I wanted to share some thoughts with everyone today on how Cloud Computing is changing the way we do business.
Cloud Computing - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloud_computing - for a basic explanation.
The very idea of Cloud Computing is changing the way we do business. Information has suddenly become a whole lot more accessible. A traveler in an internet cafe in Barcelona can sign on to work through salesforce.com or LinkedCPA.com and take a look at where his financials are and if his accountant has processed his last expense report. There's no need to pick up the phone, only find a computer with an internet connection. The ability of the world to remotely connect is being tested everyday. Boundaries are literally being ripped down. We are not living in the same brick and mortar businesses of the 19th Century. Want to download software from Microsoft in Redmond, Washington? Just click the button in Perth, Australia and you have exactly what you need. Why can't we do the same thing with all of our companies financial data? The truth is we can. The way we do business in the 21st century is constantly being tested.
